welcome to joe dochtermann’s guitar lessons & recording blog homepage

www.joedocmusic.com features guitar lessons with a personal approach and a focus on understanding and applying music theory to help you become a more creative guitarist. We aim to provide lessons that you won’t find in the endless reams of youtube videos and standard subscription-based guitar websites. Some content is free (see the Guitar Journal and Recording Tips pages), and we also sell a series of instructional ebook courses and DVDs, which we market here, on Amazon.com, Ebay.com, and a few other sites. The recent printed book on home recording (see the Recording Tips blog) is available at Borders, B&N, and other bookstores worldwide.

Look through our Guitar Q&A and the Home Recording Tips Blog to get a feeling for the style and pick up some different perspectives on music and recording. Our lessons go beyond the standard, “This is an E7#9 chord, also called the ‘Jimi Hendrix chord’…” kind of lessons that you can watch for free on youtube until you are ready to be lobotomized with a low E-string.

There is free content for sure, but our focus is on creating quality DVD & ebook (download) lessons to create an income! The free stuff is in the same style as the $$ lessons, so if you like the style, dig in. If not, well, then google again.

Have fun, and simply drop us a line if you have any questions, and we will reply as soon as possible.
