April 2023 – Two versions of the pedal are currently available:
- A brighter and mid-focused Texas Instruments 2N1305 (1307 & 1309) version. Excellent for humbucking pickups and higher-output guitars.
- A more full range and vintage sounding “Vindicator Version”, which is the fuzz side only from our acclaimed “Vindicator” dual pedal. A bit darker, a bit more compression, and at full gain and when using higher output pickups it may “sag” more.
Either option sounds fairly similar, they have a slightly different response and are aimed at fitting your axe/rig a bit better than a standardized, “off the shelf” pedal. Contact us if you want us to tune it in a specific way.
Get ready for the most gorgeous Mk2 tones you can imagine. This beast is utterly Zeppelicious – all those classic guitar tones are lurking in this box *plus* we have added the bias control for fine-tuning the texture to your taste, and a “vintage/mod” switch, allowing you to switch in the popular mod to the circuit that we feature on our “Vindicator” pedal, making the intensely saturated fuzz more adjustable via the “fuzz” control, and increasing the input dynamics, especially with humbucking pickups.
Returns/ Repairs:
RETURN POLICY: If you’re not satisfied with any JDM Pedal, you can return within 14 days for a refund (minus shipping and payment processing costs, which Paypal does not refund to us 🙁 If you encounter any functional problems with a pedal at any time just contact us! Since we use vintage transistors, it is possible that a transistor can fail, as rare as that is, and we’ll always do what it takes to get your beloved fuzz machine growling again.
How this pedal react with solid state amp? Thanks
The MK2 has a nicely rounded Germanium sound even on solid state amps. Normally for a solid state amp I wouldn’t recommend something like a Rangemaster boost, but the Tonebender style fuzzes work nicely together with solid state input channels.
cheers
