Q: JDM Pedals "Fuzz 292" / 4-knob Version

Our Kickass Silicon Fuzz Pedals - Made in classic Fuzzface style with a few modern twists to not only reduce noise and interference, but to allow you to alter the "voice" of the Fuzz; a classic "Lo" mode, a 70's style "Treble" mode (with a snarky bite great for Humbuckers), and a modern "Hi" mode that will get you into Stoner Rock territory. Use the "Gain" control to cool off the input to the fuzz, also prevents high output pickups from mushing out the fuzz. The 4-knob Version controls are Volume/Bias/Pregain/Tone. Enclosure size is a "tall" 1590B. Vintage BC109 and BC183 transistors provide articulate tone, and careful tuning of the circuit allows "sparkling" cleanup as you back off on your guitar's volume pot. Handmade and fine tuned to create the grooviest Silicon Fuzz tone around.

Q: JDM Pedals "Green Meanie" Germanium / Silicon Hybrid Distortion "Muff Style"

The Big Muff has been a cornerstone of rock guitar tones from Hendrix, to Pink Floyd, through the Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana, and on and on... However, I've never been a big fan of the Big Muff. The extreme distortion sometimes makes the guitar seem to get *quieter* when you kick it in - all dynamics are lost! The lack of midrange adds to the problem. What we were looking for is something with that Muff "grind", but with more dynamics; something that sounds good at lower volume levels. BUT, once in a while a completely saturated sound comes in handy (that's my studio roots!) So after months of breadboarding, prototyping, swearing, quitting pedals forever, getting angrily drunk, then renewing the quest for the ultimate Muff, the "Green Meanie" was born. Not meant to look pretty, the 'Meanie is capable of creating everything from a hint of 60's fuzz to bone marrow melting hot lava high gain sounds. The Germanium first stage takes care of the softer, juicier side, and he silicon second stage adds the "tightness" and "punch" in however much you need. Swap from "Green" to "Mean" with the toggle, and use the Tone, Density, and Mid knobs to tailor your tone to taste. Hand wired, true bypass, vintage transistors, high tolerance components, shielded inputs and outputs, and hand finished and silkscreened for that "not too perfect" look. The "Green Meanie" is a work of sonic art.

JDM pedals is now offering customizable Germanium Rangemaster-style boost pedals starting at $119 incl. shipping. The basic feature set is the "boost" control (naturally), and the "Range" control (taken from our JDM Tonemaster "EQ" control) which varies from a chunky, full range boost to a classic treble boost. The really cool part is you pick your OC series vintage transistor - the finesse of an OC71? The Classic OC75? The crunchy OC44? We also have OC72, OC83, OC602, and OC602 in stock. Email for a full list of what else might be currently in stock. The pedals are built battery-only, no power supply connection. Batteries will last YEARS in one of these as long as you disconnect the input cable when not in use (this disconnects the battery). We can add an optional power supply jack, but this circuit is the classic Rangemaster-style, and cannot be daisy-chained with other negative-ground pedals, it is positive ground. Trust us, battery is enough, and sounds best. For an additional $15 we can add a 3-way top-cut switch (pictured above). This allows you to shave off some of the highest frequencies, which can sound a bit "harsh" or "brittle" depending on your amp/speakers. It's a 3-position switch with center off. The other two positions we set to "just take off the edge" in one position (can help cut hiss or interference if you experience it at a gig). The second cut "warms up" the tone, just right for brighter American amps (Fender, Boogie...). Alternately, we can set the cut to go deeper, creating a prominent mid boost.
