JDM Pedals "Elektrika Handwired", Point-to-Point , Turret Board Construction

A point-to-point, handwired version of our JDM Elektrika. All NOS parts - resistors, caps, and transistors, assembled on turretboard, creating the most stark Elektrika experience of all. Not for the faint of heart, this pedal channels the rudest, wildest spirit of the TB MK1 and each pedal built has it's own unique character. The "Zonk" mode is truer to the original - a reedy, penetrating fuzz to rip acid holes into musical tapestry. The MK1 mode is a raw, clear reproduction of the best Tone Bender sound you've heard, with the added flexibility of our Tone and Gate controls.

JDM Pedals "Elektrika" - Custom Tonebender Mk1

The JDM Pedals "Elektrika" is our take on the legendary Tonebender Mk1. Made famous in the recordings of The Yardbirds, Mick Ronson (with David Bowie), and Led Zeppelin, this fuzz is the sound of legends.

JDM Pedals "Elektrika" - Limited Edition Mullard "Red Dot" OC42 - Units #25-50

JDM Pedals "Limited Edition" Elektrika These have been by far our most popular pedals, and the search is on to find the proper vintage germanium transistors to get "that sound". This run is built using incredibly rich sounding and at the same time low leakage & stable OC42 Mullard transistors. These are the coveted "Red Dot" Mullard transistors, which have a red dot on the metal cover over the glass tube, and a white collector dot. These are very quiet when your volume is turned down, and create a rich fuzz when cranked - a hair less gain than the Valvo Black Glass, but trading that "hairiness" for a rich, 3D clarity. Features: All vintage Mullard OC42 "Red Dot" germanium transistors. Internal analog voltage inverter, allowing power standard +9vDC, center negative ("Boss Style") power supplies for easy integration into modern pedalboards All of our Tonebender MK1 mods, as featured on the Elektrika (Gate & Tone controls, Fat/Tight Switch) Gold Hammerite finish, hand printed black silkscreened graphics joe

JDM Pedals "Elektrika" - Limited Edition Mullard/Philips "black glass" OC45 - Units #01-25

JDM Pedals "Limited Edition" Elektrika - OC45 This run is built using Philips/Mullard OC45 transistors, and tonally these have shown themselves perfectly suited to the Elektrika circuit. Lower noise than the OC44, with gain characteristics closer to the OC75, these fall neatly "in the middle" of those two pedals. An optimal all-around perfect fuzz for stage and recording. Features: All vintage Valvo/Mullard OC45 "Red Dot" germanium transistors. Internal analog voltage inverter, allowing power standard +9vDC, center negative ("Boss Style") power supplies for easy integration into modern pedalboards All of our Tonebender MK1 mods, as featured on the Elektrika (Gate & Tone controls, Fat/Tight Switch) Gold Sparkle finish, indelible UV printed graphics joe

JDM Pedals "Elektrika" - Silicon Edition / Tone Bender MK1 meets "Buzzaround"

JDM Pedals "Elektrika" Silicon Edition Revised for 2024 - Now based on the "Buzzaround" circuit - a silicon version of this iconic fuzz. Temperature stable and low noise, this little beast will kick ass and melt faces at your next gig! Features: Top Jacks Standard +9vDC operation, center negative Volume, Fuzz, and Tone controls Silkscreened graphics, Grinning Skull, & blue LED!

JDM Pedals "Fuzz 292" / 3-knob Version

Our Kickass Silicon Fuzz Pedals - Made in classic Fuzzface style with a few modern twists to not only reduce noise and interference, but to allow you to alter the "voice" of the Fuzz; a classic "Lo" mode, a 70's style "Treble" mode (with a snarky bite great for Humbuckers), and a modern "Hi" mode with increased maximum gain for over-the-top fuzz sounds. The 3-knob Version controls are Volume/Bias/Tone - control the "Fuzz" aka. Gain with your guitar's volume knob. Vintage BC109 and BC183 transistors provide an articulate fuzz tone, and careful tuning of the circuit allows for "sparkling" cleanup as you back off on your volume pot. You can easily play entire gigs with your Red 292 on, adjusting only the guitar's volume pot for more or less drive as needed. Handmade, and tuned to create the finest Silicon Fuzz tone around.

JDM Pedals "Fuzz 292" / 4-knob Version

Our Kickass Silicon Fuzz Pedals - Made in classic Fuzzface style with a few modern twists to not only reduce noise and interference, but to allow you to alter the "voice" of the Fuzz; a classic "Lo" mode, a 70's style "Treble" mode (with a snarky bite great for Humbuckers), and a modern "Hi" mode that will get you into Stoner Rock territory. Use the "Gain" control to cool off the input to the fuzz, also prevents high output pickups from mushing out the fuzz. The 4-knob Version controls are Volume/Bias/Pregain/Tone. Enclosure size is a "tall" 1590B. Vintage BC109 and BC183 transistors provide articulate tone, and careful tuning of the circuit allows "sparkling" cleanup as you back off on your guitar's volume pot. Handmade and fine tuned to create the grooviest Silicon Fuzz tone around.

JDM Pedals "Green Meanie" Germanium / Silicon Hybrid Distortion "Muff Style"

The Big Muff has been a cornerstone of rock guitar tones from Hendrix, to Pink Floyd, through the Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana, and on and on... However, I've never been a big fan of the Big Muff. The extreme distortion sometimes makes the guitar seem to get *quieter* when you kick it in - all dynamics are lost! The lack of midrange adds to the problem. What we were looking for is something with that Muff "grind", but with more dynamics; something that sounds good at lower volume levels. BUT, once in a while a completely saturated sound comes in handy (that's my studio roots!) So after months of breadboarding, prototyping, swearing, quitting pedals forever, getting angrily drunk, then renewing the quest for the ultimate Muff, the "Green Meanie" was born. Not meant to look pretty, the 'Meanie is capable of creating everything from a hint of 60's fuzz to bone marrow melting hot lava high gain sounds. The Germanium first stage takes care of the softer, juicier side, and he silicon second stage adds the "tightness" and "punch" in however much you need. Swap from "Green" to "Mean" with the toggle, and use the Tone, Density, and Mid knobs to tailor your tone to taste. Hand wired, true bypass, vintage transistors, high tolerance components, shielded inputs and outputs, and hand finished and silkscreened for that "not too perfect" look. The "Green Meanie" is a work of sonic art.

JDM Pedals "Hot Plate" Tonebender Mk3 Style Custom Germanium Fuzz

The JDM Pedals "Hot Plate" Mk3 Style Germanium Fuzz is a true-to-vintage tip of the hat to the Tonebender MKIII. We've taken it to the next level with a passive mid-bump switch to enhance the tone in a mix thick with drums, keys, and vocals competing for midrange space. The JDM Hot Plate uses vintage PNP Germanium transistors, but we've also added an analog voltage inverter on-board so you can daisy chain this fuzz with your other pedals running on standard +9vDC. 9v block Battery clip also inside, of course .

JDM Pedals "Humdinger" Germanium Edition | Dual Pedal Fuzz & Octavia/Boost

JDM Pedals "OC Boost" Custom Version

Classic Rangemaster Boost with additional controls - Limited Edition / Currently Available Transistors * According to discussion with Joe prior to ordering! Controls: "Boost" level (naturally), "EQ" control, 3-way top cut switch The "EQ" control gradually blends in more lows to the classic treble-only boost as you turn it up. Fully counterclockwise, you have a classic Rangemaster. Fully clockwise, you have the modification that Iommi famously used for Black Sabbath recordings. Instead of switching these, we implemented a blend control, so you can find the optimal setting for your rig. The top cut switch allows you to either cut just the very highest treble, which can just trim extraneous white noise above the guitar's naturaly frequencies. The "Mo'" position cuts into upper harmonics which can sound harsh with modern amps or when combining the boost with fuzz or drive pedals. Perfect!

JDM Pedals Little Steamer Overdrive

The "Little Steamer" is a unique pedal, and you won't find any other pedals out there that create the same tone. Based on the mysterious "Harmonic Percolator" circuit from the 1970's, we have tweaked the design to allow you to dial in sparkling light overdrive tones, warm sustaining overdrive, or nearly synth-like fuzz/drive sounds that sustain forever. The unique properties of the circuit create a pleasant (if at times wildly overdriven) sound no matter how you dial it in. It's like coffee; it's going to pep your tone up no matter how you brew it, you just need to dial in your flavor. There are four controls - "Roast", "Volume", "Steam", and a "Clip" switch. Volume is obvious. The Clip switch is also pretty straight forward - when in the "Clip" position, the signal is sent through a series of diodes, both silicon and germanium, to create additional distortion in the signal, increasing the harmonic content, and giving it more "bite" and drive. This results in a small volume drop which you can compensate with the volume knob. The "Roast" and "Steam" knobs are completely unique to our design. Roll back the "Roast" for mellower overdrive sounds, crank it for a "dark roast" high-gain overdrive with a solid midrange that will still cut through the mix even at wild gain levels. "Steam" lets you reign in the the drive in a different way; turned down (to the left) the circuit gain is reduced, but high end "sparkle" is maintained - perfect for spanking rock and country rhythm guitar sounds. As you crank it up, the gain increases and the sound becomes somewhat darker and focused, allowing you to create furiously steaming lead sounds that won't steam your eardrums with harsh harmonics. The interaction of "Roast" and "Steam" provide an amazing range of tones from old school rock and mellow overdrive to gutsy distortion and slippery fuzz tones. Get your Little Steamer now and caffeinate your tone.
